Ashanti Altovese, founder of the Dancesport Divas, competes and wins first place at the 2010 So You Think You Can Dance Bachata Competition. Held at ShBoom Nighclub in San Ramon, CA, the event was hosted by Rodney Rodchata of Rodchata Dance Company and was judged by top dance professionals in the San Francisco Bay area. The competition was conducted as a Jack & Jill format where male and female dancers are paired at random and dance freestyle to a song chosen by the DJ. The event was very engaging and the crowd gave high energy and support to all the competitors. Ashanti along with her partner received the top cash prize for their competition performance.
